What is Tetra Pro

Tetra Pro is a DEKA (Italy) fractional CO₂ laser with a 10 600 nm wavelength — the reference technology for working on scars and skin texture. The beam is absorbed by water in the tissue and delivered in a grid of micro-columns, leaving healthy skin between them; the skin heals from these bridges, and new collagen replaces damaged tissue. The depth and density of the columns are set by the doctor, so one device covers everything from a light surface peel to deep resurfacing and surgical precision.

At La Vie Clinic Tetra Pro is used by dermatologists for post-acne, post-surgical and burn scars, stretch marks, uneven texture, deep wrinkles and photo-ageing. The CoolPeel programme is a superficial renewal with recovery of about one or two days; DOT Therapy works deeper where a visible change in relief is needed, with 5–10 days of redness and peeling. The same laser is used for precise removal of benign skin lesions — papillomas, keratoses, warts, molluscum — after a dermatological examination and, when indicated, dermoscopy; suspicious lesions are never vaporised without a diagnostic plan, and tissue is sent for histology when the doctor considers it necessary.

A scar course is usually 3–5 sessions 4–6 weeks apart. The procedure is performed under local or topical anaesthesia; the doctor gives written aftercare instructions and schedules a check-up. It is not performed on active infection or herpes, fresh tan, during pregnancy, with a tendency to keloid scarring or while taking certain medications.
